Mocatinas - Leesburg, Virginia

Went with a friend to check out their afternoon tea (which you need a reservation for) and ended up having what is called Elevenses on the menu - basically a light tea. It includes a pot of tea and your choice of a tea sandwich or mini croissant and scone or macaron. Naturally, we opted for all of the above (at extra cost). The croissant and scone are served warm and so were eaten first. They were delicious but very small - just a couple of bites each. The tea sandwich was cucumber and cream cheese, which was disappointing in its lack of flavor and the dried out state of the bread. The macaron was excellent, you have a choice of anything in the case, so I chose the creme brûlée.
The main dining area is upstairs and is beautifully decorated in feminine pinks and pale grey, very Bridgerton! Seating was comfortable and we were able to sit by the window with views up and down the street.
Food was brought up and then we were left to relax and chat. We didn’t see a server again after that, so it’s just as well the tea pot was large.
Overall, it’s an experience that I would recommend. Next time we will reserve the traditional tea and hope for tastier savories.

What a lovely place! A dear friend visited from out of town. We wanted to make a special memory and choose Mocatinas. We shared afternoon tea. What a wonderful experience!!! It was fun. It was perfect. The service was excellent, the tea wonderful and the food superb. She returned home. Both of us add the memories of our tea time at Mocatinas which will be with us forever. I will return to Mocatinas!

The decor is outstanding, someone did a really great job with it. The ice cream was, honestly, a little disappointing, maybe just because we had very high expectations. The scoops were good, not the absolute best ever but very very good. Everyone liked the touch of the cookie with it. The soft serve was a little off, the machine was having problems so it was too soft. It tasted too artificial, it is dairy free I believe, so that was probably the issue for me. I should have reset my expectations but I just wanted it to be great. Go for the experience.

I'm disappointed to give Mocatinas only 3 stars, especially after hearing so many great things about their party services. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. It would help if they managed expectations better, particularly by clearly outlining the additional charge for bringing something as basic as a birthday cake.

They should scrap this up charge all together for cakes only.

Additionally, when we asked for water, we were given large bottles but no cups to drink from. When we requested cups, we were told to reuse the tea cups, which were still full of tea, with no place to pour it out. The table was also not cleared to allow for an easy way to bring the cake over, so there were dirty napkins and table wear everywhere.

Considering the price tag of over $600, the service was subpar.

Overall, I can't recommend Mocatinas for parties at this price point unless they provide a dedicated server to ensure that basic needs are met.

Very friendly staff. Loved the free cotton candy on Saturday from 3-5 (Call or check website for accuracy). My daughter loved the pink everything and how fancy it was. She loved the macaroons, especially the unicorn one. I enjoyed my coffee but would prefer it from somewhere else. There’s a lot of candy/chocolate in super cute wrappers and boxes that seem great for gifts. The bathroom was very clean and spacious.

One of the absolute best places to visit in Leesburg. Huge shout out to sales associates Hunter and Ava! They provided exceptional customer service both over the phone and in person. Hunter and Ava were incredibly kind, professional, and helpful when my friend and I recently visited the cafe. I would recommend Mocatinas unreservedly!

Wonderful, cute spot for the sweet tooth and the young (at heart). Sweets, ice creams, merchandise and coffee. You can eat in, especially an upstairs tearoom-like setting.

Great for desserts and just to chill for a while. Excellent ice cream (had the pretzel salted caramel). Any place you can get bacon flavored cotton candy is worth a visit (or two).
