Doctor DiCarlo is simply the best at what he does. When you select him as your Doctor you are selecting someone who genuinely cares for his patients. Don’t expect him to examine you with one hand on the door. He takes the time to listen to your concerns, thoroughly examines you, and then develops a plan to get you on the road to recovery.

There are two kind of doctors in the U.S.. The vast majority that handles you like cattle for 5-10 min tops, collect your money, don't care about doing their homework, don't STUDY your past records, and don't bother actively listening to you. The other kind - hidden gems - are doctors like DiCarlo, one-in-a-million health professional. He took care of me and my family for many years and still does. Yes, sometimes the appointment gets delayed, yes, sometimes the office staff is a bit clumsy, but everybody has a heart in the right place. Especially Dr. DiCarlo. His appointments are thorough and detailed-oriented. He is a textbook example of what a Family Doctor should be. It is impressive the range of his medical knowledge as well: he can discuss almost any aspect of your health and provide excellent referrals if you need an specialist. Hands down one of the best doctors I have ever had in my life and, without a doubt, the best I had while living in the U.S.

Something very strange happened to me with this doctor.

I called the office last week to set an appointment as a new patient. A representative took my personal details (and insurance information), and asked me when I wanted the appointment. Even though they had plenty of open spaces, I asked for an appointment 10 days away to give myself time to plan around my job.

One day before my appointment, I received an interesting call from the doctor's office.

The caller left a voicemail saying that Doctor Di Carlo had chosen to end his contract with my insurance provider, so my visit would not be covered. The caller also told me, however, that I was still welcome to come in for my appointment if I could pay entirely out of pocket.

I thought this was strange, since Dr. Di Carlo had appeared on my insurance company's care provider list, so I called my insurer to figure out what was going on.

The insurance representative said that Dr. Di Carlo's contract was still in effect and placed me on hold while she called the doctor's office to ask why I was told otherwise.

A few minutes later, the insurance representative returned.

She told me she had spoken to an administrator in Dr. Di Carlo's office, and the administrator had said that the doctor did in fact still have a contract with my insurance, but that he was simply too busy to take any new patients.

I thought this was very strange, considering that I had been told that I could still come in as a new patient if I could pay the doctor myself rather than go through my insurance.

I wonder what could have happened to cause strange, strange mix-up.

Dr. DiCarlo is hands down the best doctor I have ever seen. He truly found his calling because this is the first office I have ever visited where the front staff, patients and clinical staff is smiling. He treats his patients with respect and dignity and spends quality time making sure all issues are addressed. His administrative staff is awesome and they always follow up.. I had some insurance issues they proactively solved. On my first visit to Dr. DiCarlo, he personally greeted me in the lobby then assisted an elderly patient to his car. I wish it was possible to duplicate him and his staff so more patients could have a chance to experience medical care as it should be.

The office has to practice at being as incredibly inept as they are. I see it’s mentioned by many. Answering the phone seems to be a struggle and if they do answer there’s a 1 in 10 chance of follow through. The Dr is very good but the culture of the staff is arrogance and ineptness. Your health is the least of their concerns.
