This cafe combines savory dishes with pastries on its menu. There are a limited number of seats in the cafe, so it can get quite crowded. It is common to wait between 30 and 45 minutes during lunchtime. While their prices are a bit steeper, they are justified by their unique selection of food.

The cafe has a really nice interior and a good selection of pastries. I only tried two teas and one pastry, so I can't say much about their all-day breakfast menu.

The pastry I had was really tasty and something unique that you don't come across often. However, considering the price, I would probably only have it once, maybe just to take a nice photo for Instagram. There are other pastries out there that taste just as good but cost a lot less.

Overall, it's a lovely cafe where you can get some great photos and try some interesting treats.

Came here for a private dining experience (which I guess they do ever so once in a while). It was a collaboration with Dearborn. Simply put the food was really really amazing. The theme was a twist on breakfast. So all the dishes served (for dinner) take inspiration from common breakfast items.

Must give a shout-out to the croissant, fish taco, fish curry puff, English muffin and eggs (all the 5 sauces were different variations of eggs), oat congee with scallop and shrimp (main, this is really really good), Tau Huey and You Tiao (not just any regular Tau Huey, this one is made with white chocolate and soy bean), and granola bowl.

Unfortunately, my tiny appetite was unable to handle the remaining desserts. They were good but stomach too full!

The service staff were very knowledgeable of each dishes and were very attentive. 5/5 experience!

The brunch meal and food was great 👍🏻
Had the Octopus & Sea Urchin Brioche Feuilletée and it was amazing! Octopus was grilled to perfection and sea urchin was fresh. The Brioche was toasted and the rings were define.
Lobster Toastie was served toasted. Portion of Lobster is substantial.
Had the best Pain au Chocolat. Rich mild bitter chocolate and soft.
Pistachio slice has more of a white chocolate taste profile. It has a very nice base.

Spent about S$92 for 2 pax for the dishes that we had.

First time trying out after recommendations from friends. Restaurant decor is nice and cosy. Ordered 2 drinks too but forgot to take pictures. Maple vanilla green tea tasted nice but cup of tea is quite small in size and without teabags, hence no chance to refill hot water once you are done with it. Pastries are definitely the highlight. Looked really pretty and tasted delicious too. Only that the price is on the higher side. Premium price for premium food I guess. Dine in at 60 minutes maximum.

Finally tried this place after much hype, we came fully prepared to pay a lot. We came on a Sunday and no doubt there was a long wait. Good thing is there’s a queueing system and we could do our own things and come back later. We arrived slightly before noon, got the ticket and were called back around an hour later. When we arrived back at the shop, we were informed that most of the pastries had been sold out, but it would be topped up at a later time.

What this meant is the dessert pastries seen at the counter were all sold out, but the pastries on the menu were still available. As my main objective was to try their savory items, I still pressed on. We ordered everything that was relatively reasonably priced on the menu for our group of 4, and went with some of what was left on the dessert counter.

I enjoyed all the savory items, in particular the tuna belly item. Each item was also beautifully presented and also came with a side of salad which was decent. The dessert pastries not so much, but I guess it was because this were probably the leftovers and weren’t as popular.

As for the price, yes it was crazy pricey. It is probably a one time experience and something you don’t go back often to eat. As for the service, this was something that can be worked on. For the premium price and dish, I felt the service was super lackluster. Our waitress had difficulty understanding us and we struggled communicating with her what we want. They also do not serve water.

All in all, I’m glad I tried everything I wanted on the savory menu and would like to come back to try the other popular desserts.

LE MATIN PATISSIERIE ION ORCHARD

Of bakeries and pastries in Singapore, Le Matin Patisserie is definitely one of the most highly sought after and talked about

Think decadent French delicacies, delectable desserts - some with a good innovative twist, some true to form but with great quality and source ingredients. The perfect enclave for a good afternoon tea break of the highest order.

Chef Mohamed Al-Matin trained at Le Cordon Bleu Sydney, worked at some of the renowned patisseries there including Adriano Zumbo Patisserie and Black Star Pastry. He was also previously the Head Pastry Chef of Restaurant Andre, and was also Pastry Sous Chef at one of the best restaurants in the world – Noma.

Almond croissant was a sight to behold with a lovely aesthetic. Fermented mushroom quiche was aromatic and exquisitely done. Lobster roll toastie was playful, flavorful with good bite. All in all, such a pleasure digging into all the offerings.

What stole the show was definitely the Fromage De Vos Reves which essentially is a cheese dessert comprised of Comte AOC, Reblochon and Brillat Savarin - I could easily say this was one of the best dessert I ever had in quite a few years. Great mouthfeel, great flavours and the creaminess is unforgettable.

Service was actually very attentive and friendly in face of the brisk pace of business. And crew were actually quite knowledgeable and feel free to chat them up about the pastries you are interested in.

Was also a pleasure spotting chef Matin at the outlet when I was there. Kind of added to the authenticity and personality of this wonderful Patissierie. Couldn’t help but feel that it’s worthy to carry the pride and joy of being a locally spun business with great bakes. Highly recommended.
