Ogni volta che vado a Parigi una tappa è d'obbligo da Cedric Grolet. Ci ho provato anche a Singapore. L'ambiente è bello e confortevole sebbene in continuità con uno spazio che vende abiti. Le proposte sono bene o male in linea con la produzione francese, ogni tanto con un twist più asiatico. Molto buono il trompe l'œil del bacello di vaniglia e anche il cappuccino era ben fatto. Prezzi alti, ma ce lo si aspetta già.

Parto col dire che desideravo da molto tempo venire qui. Diciamo che le aspettative non sono state del tutto soddisfatte dal fatto che alle 10:30 era già finito praticamente tutto e il cappuccino non era un cappuccino (senza schiuma) e se te lo devo pagare 15$ li deve valere tutti. Credo che quando arrivi a questi livelli certi errori non dovrebbero essere commessi poi ovviamente siamo umani e si può sbagliare! Però io se facessi pagare ad un cliente 15$ di sicuro so già di mio che deve essere il migliore della sua vita.

Penso che il gusto dei dolci sia nella norma.. ci sono pasticcerie di paese non conosciute che sanno valorizzare meglio il prodotto che si usa. Fortunato perchè si è fatto un nome
Ma pagare così tanto per la normalità anche no. Esteticamente belli ma come gusto normale. Bisogna andarci una volta nella vita per non tornarci.

Un autentico disastro.
Premetto che sono un grande fan di Cedric Grolet e, in viaggio di nozze con tappa a Singapore, decidiamo con mia moglie di andare a provare la nuova pasticceria.
Vi spiego subito che il servizio è diviso in 2, ovvero: fino alle 11 croissant, cookies e caffetteria, dalle 11 in poi sala da the con dolci e cocktail.
Ore 8,30 ci mettiamo in coda, al nostro ingresso delle 9,20 ci dicono che i croissant sono finiti.
Entriamo comunque, prendiamo un tavolo, ci ripetono che briosches sono finite così chiediamo i cookies ma finiti anche quelli.
Così domandiamo la possibilità di prendere altre cose (quelle che avrebbero servito nell orario del the) ma naturalmente nulla.
Nel mentre vedo passare croissant (non erano finiti?) probabilmente per tavolo prenotati.
Ordiniamo quindi 3 paste (devo dire ottime) ma purtroppo una con la vaniglia porta un pelo nero (io e mia moglie siamo biondi).
Inqualificabile, 25€ di tarte, il pelo non ci deve essere.
Facciamo presente e per scusarsi magicamente arriva un croissant al nostro tavolo offerto (quindi grazie al pelo ho mangiato il croissant sennò col cavolo).

Prezzo caro ma d’altronde ci sta, dolci buoni ma nulla di esagerato, servizio pessimo e assolutamente per nulla elastico.
Non consiglio di fare tutta quella coda, onestamente non ci tornerei.

I was genuinely eager to try a Cedric Grolet pastry. I’ve been following his work on Instagram, and I was thrilled when he opened a shop here in Singapore. I had high expectations for the pastries and cakes, and I must say, the display did not disappoint — the cakes looked remarkably like real fruits.

However, the service experience was deeply disappointing. I visited with my son, and the waitress who attended to us was unfriendly and seemed moody. No smiling at all time.

We arrived around 4:30 PM and ordered promptly. By 5:00 PM, she walked by and informed us, “We are closing soon,” and then proceeded to bring the payment machine without any courtesy. I handed her my card, and she completed the transaction without uttering a single word, not even a simple “thank you.”

At that moment, there were four other tables occupied, yet she did not inform the other guests about closing time or ask for their payment. We were fully aware of the closing time and were not causing any delays or inconvenience. I trust that my son and I were respectful and not making it difficult for the staff to close on time or work overtime.

Given the reputation of this establishment, I hope you can address your staff’s attitude, as this experience was quite disappointing.
I expected a much higher standard of service. I sincerely hope you can address your staff’s attitude, as the lack of hospitality overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable experience. Quite disappointed.

Gotta give credit where credit’s due. I’ve dined in (advanced online reservation) and also took away food from Cedric Grolet multiple times before. The food here, while pricey, is fantastic and I think worth the hefty price tag. They don’t skimp on the quality ingredients and portion sizes are good. However the service has been a consistent let down and the wait staff don’t seem to have a solid f&b / customer service background.

Funny enough, during my recent trip for dine-in breakfast, I read someone’s Google review about the wait staff not serving water because they were out of cups. So to test that anecdote out, as the staff was taking my order, I asked for a round of water and the staff enthusiastically acknowledged my request. But throughout my time there, water was not served.

I also wish that the tables were larger. For both breakfast and high tea, they serve everything almost all at once, including both hot and cold drinks at the same time. For a party of 3-4 pax, we were playing table Tetris with the dishes, cups and teapots.

Back to the positive - the food has been consistently great. I also took away the cinnamon roll (S$17) and the seasonal pistachio cookie (S$30). Had a mini heart attack at the cashier but after heating it up at home, the pastries could last a few tea times.

Croissant was buttery, flaky and delicious. The vanilla flower wasn’t my favorite because it was too sweet for my liking. A bit overpriced but I would still come to the store in Paris to try out new cakes 😍
