One of my top 3 favorite cafes in Alexandria. The pastry options and deliciousness is like no other. The pistachio chocolate croissant is my new addiction! I have not tried the sandwiches yet but they seem popular. Cappuccino and mocha is also great and I love the shaded outdoor seating. The only difficulty is deciding on which pastry to order. Some days the staff is slow, however, the manager was very reassuring that will change very soon. I appreciate his receptiveness to my disappointment and willingness to improve. It really is a wonderful place that I look forward to being at often.

Pleasant bakery and pastry shop. While the pastries are tasty, the bread is outstanding - and reasonably priced. Welcoming staff.

Numerous items (including the bread) are not available at opening time, so I recommend waiting at least half hour after posted hours.

Had a blast at Bands & Brews! Love the expansion and utilization of space. Great mini beer garden in the heart of Del Ray.

I stop in here almost weekly, and the lattes have been great! The first time I went I also had the coffee cake which was really good & soft as well. Even at the end of their day I was greeted with a cheery bonjour and was able to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of a great coffee break. I have to note that on my visit last week I left without being able to order as it seemed as though the one person working was taking out trash and must’ve not seen me & the other gentleman that were perusing the shop…but I’m sure it was just an oversight as I’ve been told that this area can be pretty slow on Tuesday afternoons. Really great coffee, and a really great experience otherwise. Bonne chance! ?

My one and only complaint was a plastic fork. Everything else was perfect. Food amazing, atmosphere wonderful. You sort of feel like you’re somewhere else. Maybe not exactly France, but we’re not in Kansas. Crepe with mushrooms? Amazing.

Met the owner, definitely authentic French bakery. The prices were very expensive for what you're getting, but everything is made fresh daily, so as long as you go early, it is more worth it. Lots of delicious finds. Our favorite were the filled beignets. The food is better than the coffee.

Such a cool fun place! The coffee, fresh orange juice, and food were great. Came back another time for beer and wine in the garden which was so relaxing! The vibe is just so lovely! They have a children’s play space as well as scheduled activities for little ones at times. Very family and dog friendly, something for everyone- definitely check it out!

First time stopped by! I am super happy that I could found an authentic French Bakery in Alexandria!!! Trust me! Everything is so good. And of course you can’t go wrong with the coffee either. The atmosphere feels so welcome. If you want a quick trip to Paris, just walk into Gustave!
