Beware of this attorney !!!
Hire at your own risk !!!
Worst unethical unprofessional rude attorney I’ve never seen as well as her incompetent assistant Matt Geisser.
After my abusv husband abandoned the marital home and marriage of 28 years without a word and warnings and disappeared for weeks without a trace, I contacted Marie.
I paid my retainer and never heard from her until I had to contact her about what I found in mail that my husband had filed behind my back with top notch law firm.
On the phone she told me that she was going to get me alimony and the house.
During exchange and discoveries I asked her and her assistant to assist me with what I needed to provide etc as I’m not from this country and have no clue of divorce law as it was my first and second for my husband which I had no help at all from both and they were just telling me the basic and to fill out paperwork and provide documents, I was extremely confused and depressed and traumatized as what my husband has done and she knew it but took advantage of my weakness in this very desperate time of my life.
Result of Marie and Matt negligence I was in trouble with opposite counsel who kept on bullying me and Marie never did a thing and told me wrong info about non marital money etc
She never copied me on anything and had to request docs all the time bringing lots of stress and sickness because of her incompetence.
I never got any CC from her communication with opposite counsel which she barely had and lied about a settlement he offered which I refused but never contacted him to let him know and found out when I hired a second attorney and fired Marie Lurie.
I asked her to object on certain demands and refused.
I asked her to do a forensic on my husband private business because he lied on financial and she never did.
At this point I was desperate and contacted friends that knew divorce attorney and helped me and guided me when I was paying Marie.
After dragging the case for month, opposite counsel got a date to go to mediation for June.
After several attempts to meet with Marie over the case I was told to may be we can meet at a Starbucks off 595 but no location of where exactly?
I was not surprised because she made me believe that she had an office at beginning when one day she told me to meet her in corner of Publix parking lot with a fever of 102 F I was very sick but my friend drove me there to drop off file as I was explaining to Marie that I was operating from an I phone as my husband when disappeared took the marital desk computer tower and all our health and financial papers and had no laptop either.
Who meet clients in Publix parking lot or public places to talk about a very personal matter and financial!!!!!
After we did go through discovery process and gave All documents mid May which was due to court on June 9th.
Mediation was scheduled for mid June which Marie disappeared before and was told by her assistant that where she was had no internet connection
I never find out where she was !!!
After reviewing court docket I find out that Marie never filed my discovery due June 9th and no where to be found leading me to shop and hire another attorney as mediation was 8 days away.
I wrote her an email that she was no longer representing me and had hire another attorney to defend me and my interest which financially broke me out of ten of thousands of dlrs.
June 16/17 after she received my email at 9 am and my attorney contacted her about same time to have her sent all court documents to her, Marie filed with the court my financial disclosure at 11 am like a sneak.
At first she refused to send anything to my new attorney and finally her assistant Matt send most but not all.
I was forced to take a settlement at mediation in September and lost all assets that was suppose to be divided 50/50 because I could no longer pay for attorney to go to court and was drained financially but he had plenty of money to continue.
I was disgusted and disappointed and struggling now to make hands meet.

Marie Lurie is a PIT BULL in the court room! She worked as hard as the law would allow for me. At the end of the day the law is the law and there is only so much you can do and it will only move at it's won pace. i see a few people here dont understand that but thats on them. My case was finalized in about 18 months with Marie's help. It went about as well as i would have guessed. I would hire her again in a heart beat and also recommend her to anyone.

Marie Lurie is best and most honest attorney. She helped me with a very tough case concerning my children and my ex during the pandemic. Her top priority was always doing the right thing for the safety of my kids. She discovered the truth, brought it to light and justice was served. I highly recommend her! It’s nice to know that you have the support of someone so knowledgeable and kind during tough times. We will be forever grateful for all the hard work she put in for us. She changed our lives forever.

Absolute worst most unethical attorney you will ever come into contact with. Run and beware. I’ve known her daughter my entire life and it should have been a red flag considering what she did to her daughters first child’s father. It was almost disgusting but that’s for another post. Currently she’s under investigation by me and some others for her unethical behavior. I paid her $6,000 up front and she did nothing. Her assistant Matt is just as incompetent. I have the emails and text messages to prove it which are currently under review by the bar. I had court and I asked if I should be there via zoom? I got a complete attitude after calling multiple times just for Matt to tell me “no you don’t need to be there” then for Marie to call me screaming to be on zoom. Total miscommunication on their behalf (again emails to prove). I didn’t want to argue I just went but this wasn’t the first occasion. Marie would said she’s reaching out to my child’s father, told me she called and reached out to him multiple times little did she know just because were going to court doesn’t mean we don’t communicate. Marie wasn’t calling him. Marie never sent him mail. Nothing: come to find out this is her loop hole game for a father to not have rights. I should have known since this is what she did to her own grandsons father. All the sudden I see a year or so later Marie had went to court to no longer be my attorney? I was so confused I reached out to her and she said she had been trying to “find me” for months. Ummmm what? Marie not only has my number. She has my mothers number. Not just that Marie knows my address and on top of that her daughter clearly knows who I am. We live streets away. To the point her daughter has a disability of walking alone anywhere because she has separation anxiety so there were times she couldn’t walk into our same work establishment without me walking in with her: I have statements from my own coworkers how attached her daughter was to me walking her into work calling my boss begging me to walk her because she’s scared of walking alone. There is no excuse as to why she couldn’t find me. Where is the certified mail of declining me as a client? There is NOTHING. So I texted her which is also with the bar and I said Marie why are you doing this to me you took my money did no work and now you did a withdrawal as a client? I had no paperwork no notice of court. Again this is Marie’s game: I said “this is what you did to Phil” which is her grandsons real father and she said “PHILLLLL? Oh how dare you I was going to be nice and be your attorney again but since you brought him up you’re done you’re dead as a client” I HAVE ALL OF THIS IN TEXT MESSAGES TIME STAMPED AND ALL. Even when I showed the bar they told me completely unethical. I can’t wait to have my day in court with this woman to fight for all the mothers and fathers she discarded just to get her money and get rid of you. She then had her daughter harass me. It’s made me mentally upset to the point where I lose sleep at night. Marie Lurie is the MOST UNETHICAL EVIL ATTORNEY IVE EVER COME into contact with and I’ve worked in law offices me entire life. Beware ! Run! And find an ethical attorney. And for anyone who knows sweet Phil who’s been fighting for his son and for me fighting for my rights.: don’t worry this later is under a microscope. Hello, Marie. I hope you have all your receipts. Oh and another beautiful text I have from Marie when I said Marie even Matt told me not to go to court I have to email then you say I have to it’s very confusing in your office: her text literally says if you EVER TALK BAD ABOUT MATT AGAIN ITS GONNA BE OVER FOR YOU! This is an attorney. An attorney you should trust. And I literally know this family. Emotional stress and anxiety from this situation. I cry every night just thinking how could someone who knows me do this to me? Oh and just to point out she got excited saying she made me child’s father fill out his financial affidavit and she’s a pro at making the court wait. All in texts and documents:

Marie's a fantastic attorney that helped us through our custody case that had to have modification. She was thoughtful and concise and listen to exactly what we wanted to get and explain to us how to get it through the court orderly agreed on. Fantastic attorney. Cost effective and gets the job done without drawing it out. Got us things we were not even thinking about. She means business and plays no games. Answers back quickly and communication was beautiful. Made sure we understood what was achievable vs not....so your not wasting money on things you will never get.

Marie allowed my case to drag on for 2 years, all the while continuing to bill me but never producing any results. In addition, she withdrew from the case before the final hearing, but offered no monetary refund even though she had not done the job hired to do. I would strongly recommend you take your money & business almost anywhere else.
