When the pasta arrived, it was clear something was amiss. The sauce sat on top of the spaghetti, rather than embracing each strand as it should. Worse, a pool of water lingered at the bottom of the plate. Proper pasta should always be finished in the pan with the sauce, this step is crucial for the sauce to cling to the pasta, creating a harmonious, well-coated dish. There should never be standing water; had it been cooked correctly, the pasta and sauce would have come together beautifully, with no watery remnants to dilute the flavor. Who would want watered-down sauce? Certainly not anyone who understands how pasta should.

This was my fifth visit, and sadly, only two out of those five experiences were enjoyable. The rest were just average. On the visit before my most recent one, the food was served cold, which was especially disappointing.

THIS IS HOW YOU DO ITALIAN! Let me start by saying I love Italian food. Dallas has a lot to choose from, but if you are in Frisco, Texas, you are eating at Pietro's. It takes a lot for me to give 5 stars...trust me, each star is earned. Let's talk food first. I have visited a few times and each time I say...this is my favorite. Rigatoni alla Vodka add meatballs. WOW...fresh, hot, my new favorite. Lasagna was great. Plenty of flavors going on here. BUT you must start with the fresh baked dinner rolls. Say again...FRESH BAKED DINNER ROLLS with little portions of butter. You break apart the roll and get a nice portion of salty butter, which melts immediately as the rolls are FRESH BAKED! I went with a friend, we both reached our limit because the portions are a nice size. This was not my only visit. The fettuccine alfredo is also delicious. Photos tell the story for me. Go to Pietro's and if you agree with my review...say so. Let the people know this is an honest review.

Ordered the Alfredo with chicken, lasagna, and some pastries. The Alfredo was good. The lasagna was disappointing. There were too many undercooked layers without filling between the layers. It was tough to chew. I ended up pulling most of the noodles out. The rest, which wasn't much, was ok. The pasteries were very good. I would go back for the pasteries. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Really like this place.

What I like:
- The dine area is pretty simple and cozy.
- The waitress was kind and patient.
- The food was delicious and considerable portion sizes.
- lots of desert options and one better than the other.

What could improve:
- (minor) The parmigiana plate was quite small for the size, making it difficult to cut the meat on top of the pasta.

This is the best Italian bakery I have ever been too in Texas. The cookies and canollis and macarons were amazing. I will be going back again and again to try all of there food.

What a wonderful gem! Had lunch there and everything was so fresh and flavorful! Bought pastries from the bakery that tasted just like sitting in a Bakery in Southern Italy! We will be back!

New favorite spot! Stopped in for dessert and we can’t wait to return to try their food!! The Italian cream cake was perfection. Lobster tail pastry was so good! Excellent cocktails as well. Staff were welcoming with great service.

I have been to Pietro’s several times for their pastries, and they have been fantastic. When it was my SO’s birthday, I figured who better than Pietro’s to get his birthday cake for his celebration? The ordering process and pickup was easy. I ordered a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting.

When we cut into this cake, we thought it was a joke. There was more frosting than cake. What cake was there was dense, extremely dry, looked like scraps used, and was definitely NOT vanilla. Nobody and I mean nobody even came close to finishing their slice. They got thrown away along with the rest of the cake.

I emailed the bakery to let them know right away, but I haven’t heard anything back from them - and it’s been a few days. So disappointed with not only what they pass off as cake, but that they don’t even care to follow up. Clearly, they have other priorities. What a waste of time and money.
