I met Ted Chaka 2 months ago and have nothing but good things to say. I'm new to Abilene TX and coming from California where pain management was very good I didn't know what to expect, but Ted took the time to speak with me and my daughter who is my caregiver and believe me when I say she would have lit into him if there would have been something she didn't like but we both left there impressed with his level of care and compassion. I must say Radiology sucks I am still waiting for the MRI 2 months later but that's not his fault, his nurse even called them again today and nothing!!

Dr Chaka is amazing! He listened to every word I said, he gave me some samples of some migraine medicine to take every day, and some samples of a migraine medication that I take as soon as I start feeling a migraine come on. He is talking with Dr Jamison about a alternative medication for Lidocaine, I am allergic to Lidocaine. They are going to go in and burn the nerves that go into my neck. They think my neck pain is causing my migraines. I suggest everyone go see Dr Chaka, he is a PA but very nice and explains everything.

Worst pain management I've had. More interested in the quantity of patients rather than quality of care. I've had degenerative disc disease for decades, including a lamination in my lower back. He doesn't listen and doesn't get the information correct. Went in for a herniated disc, which the MRI showed. He insisted on an injection, which hasn't worked. And then on my follow up he told me everything was clear, but I had not had any more xrays or testing to show results. He doesn't pay attention. He ordered an MRI of my neck because I started having neck problems at the same time as the herniation. A simple xray was all I needed. But, 2 months later, no MRI, the PT office called and said I was to have PT. No one from his office had notified me that i was to have physical therapy. The pain got worse so I saw my surgeon for my shoulder and said maybe the pain in my neck was from that. Xrays showed that my "neck is trashed" and I was told to stop therapy immediately. Ted started out caring but changed drastically when he moved to his new facility. I do not recommend him at all. You're just a number. No wonder he's gone from ASMO. And as for his MEDICAL ASSISTANT who acts like she knows a lot more about my 70 year old body and my 42 year nursing career, she needs to be replaced. Her ugly shows all the time

I would have given Ted 5 stars before he moved to Hendrick. Since the move, it's like being cattle. Line them up, inject them, everyone gets the same treatment. Furthermore they suddenly want me to start paying additional fees up front before the procedures. Took months and months to get insurance approval because they kept sending the paperwork in with the wrong procedure. I didn't hear from them the whole time (just kept seeing the letters from my insurance.) Now I get a call out of the blue telling me I'll need to pay some physician fees before they can schedule the next procedure, but I haven't even been told it was approved. I don't hear from him or his nurse anymore. I've never even MET the doctor that actually injects me at Hendrick. The only folks from this office that contact me are in the billing department. Today I called to speak to his nurse and somehow STILL ended up with the billing department instead of her voicemail! I have never missed a payment, have no back charges, and am never late; so these sudden changes are perplexing.
Time to find another provider, though I may need to leave Abilene to get away from the Hendrick nightmare.
